Dr. Joanna Taylor

Dr. Joanna Taylor graduated with honours from the University of Ottawa in Human Kinetics, followed by four years at Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. With 15 years of clinical experience working both in Ottawa and Edmonton, Alberta, Dr. Taylor has a depth of experience working with professional and amateur athletes. Dr. Taylor developed an interest in sports injuries at a young age. Having competed in track and field, triathlon and varsity rowing, Dr. Taylor found chiropractic care extremely effective a treating injuries sustained as an athlete. 

Dr. Taylor has completed advanced courses in : medical acupuncture, neurofunctional acupuncture (McMaster University) and treatment, rehabilitation of neuromuscular and, musculoskeletal conditions.

Dr. Taylor is experienced in treating many chronic conditions, including: Plantar Fasciitis, Achilles tendinosis, rotator cuff injuries, disc herniations and sciatic nerve pain as well as chronic neck pain and headaches.

Dr. Taylor has completed continuing education in : Active Release Techniques- A.R.T.- (Upper Limb Module), Graston Technique, Kinesiotaping, and Dry Needling.

Dr. Taylor uses manual chiropractic adjustments and therapeutic excercise in the care of patients. Treatment techniques utilized include: Chiropractic manual adjustments of the spine and extremities, Extra Corporeal Shockwave Therapy, IMS techniques, dry needling, acupuncture and medical acupuncture protocols. Soft Tissue Therapies include Active Release Therapy, Graston Technique, and Kinesiotaping.
